Some things don't creep in the dark — they set it on fire. Blaze is one of them: a matte black skull, hollow and unassuming until it isn't, crowned with a Coleus scutellarioides so saturated in orange, pink, and green it looks like the embers finally caught. Every leaf is its own small inferno, streaked and scalloped like something still smoldering.

Coleus doesn't do quiet, and this one leans all the way in. Give it bright, indirect light — a little gentle morning sun will deepen those fiery tones even further, while too much harsh afternoon sun can scorch the delicate leaf edges. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged; coleus wilts fast when it's thirsty and sulks just as fast if it's drowning, so steady watering matters more than perfect timing. It likes average to high humidity and rewards attentive care with denser, fuller growth. Pinch back the growing tips regularly to keep it bushy instead of leggy — and don't be shy about it, since this plant grows back with a vengeance. Propagation is almost too easy: snip a few inches of stem, strip the lower leaves, and root it in water in a matter of days, ready to spark a second blaze somewhere else.

The skull itself wears a deep matte black finish, sculpted with just enough weathering to look like it's been smoldering long before that first leaf ever opened. A drainage hole keeps the roots from drowning beneath all that color.

Equal parts ash and ember, Blaze proves the darkest things can still burn the brightest.
