Some things are meant to be kept, not just grown. Emerald Reliquary is one of them: a skull finished in a marbled, deep emerald-green swirl, veined like polished stone from an ancient crypt, holding within it something rare enough to deserve the name — a Hoya carnosa 'Splash,' its thick, waxy leaves speckled with flecks of cream and silver, as though dusted with something otherworldly.

Hoya Splash is a slow, patient grower, and it rewards a little devotion. Give it bright, indirect light — a touch of gentle direct sun will help intensify the speckling, while too little light leaves the leaves solid green and the growth sluggish. Let the soil dry out most of the way between waterings; Hoyas store moisture in those thick leaves and are far more likely to suffer from overwatering than under. It appreciates higher humidity but adapts well to average household air, and it prefers a slightly snug pot — a little root-bound is exactly how it likes to live. In time, mature vines may produce clusters of small, star-shaped flowers with a faint sweetness, a slow-earned reward for anyone patient enough to wait. Propagation is simple: take a cutting with at least one node and a couple of leaves, let the cut end callous for a day, then root it in water or moist soil — a quiet ritual for anyone hoping to keep a reliquary of their own.

The skull itself is hand-finished in a marbled emerald tone, each piece carrying its own unique swirl pattern, so no two reliquaries ever look quite the same. A drainage hole keeps the roots safe from anything sealed away beneath.

Equal parts sacred and strange, Emerald Reliquary proves that even the rarest things deserve a place to be kept.
