Some things flutter through the dark instead of hiding from it. Ghost Wing is one of them: a skull finished in a shimmering metallic green, catching light like something moving just out of sight, crowned with a Syngonium podophyllum 'White Butterfly,' its arrow-shaped leaves marked with soft, pale variegation that seems to hover above the deeper green beneath — like a wing caught mid-flight and frozen there.

White Butterfly is an easy, graceful grower, and it thrives on attention without demanding too much of it. Give it bright, indirect light to keep that pale variegation crisp and visible — too little light, and the contrast softens, with the plant leaning toward solid green as it conserves what it can. Water when the top inch of soil dries out, keeping the soil lightly moist but never waterlogged; soggy roots are the fastest way to dull its color and health both. It enjoys higher humidity but adapts well to average household air, especially with occasional misting. As it matures, it may begin to climb or trail depending on how it's supported — let it cascade freely from the skull's crown like something taking flight, or give it a small support to climb if you'd rather it reach upward. Propagation is simple: snip a cutting just below a node, root it in water, and in a couple of weeks you'll have a second wing ready to take flight of its own.
